“Why bother?” Criticism in the equestrian world.

Today I got told “give it up, you aren’t competitive, why bother? You go up a level before you get a double clear, what’s the point? You know you aren’t going to actually get any Where, so stop wasting your money.” Well wow…..

To any of you that have heard the same – f*** them. It matters not what you do, as long as you do it for yourself and for your horse.
What is more important in life? A red rosette, those 10 points, or the ability to hold your head up and say ” I made a difference! When everyone else gave up, I stood up and took the chance! I gave them the chance that was denied by many, I opened my heart to them for what they are, rather than the results they give”

Never be defined by those that are jealous, or those that are full of bitterness. Be the best that you can be, and your equine partner will give the same to you. Enjoy it, there is no other reason to do it, be one with your ride and give yourself to the partnership – its not worth it if you don’t love it (whether it terrifies you or not).

Believe in yourself, and remember that even if you don’t, someone out there does. It matters not what you ride, or what your results are…..I admire each and every one of you that steps out of your comfort zone and takes on a course you never believed you could accomplished.

Never give in, never give up, I never will. Everyone has their own challenge, never compare your journey with someone elses, your journey is your own, and nobody else’s. You, and you alone are the judge of your own success and these boys are mine….. not their results, just their photos, and I would love to see yours. Be proud of yourselves, and never let yourselves be told you are any less than you are!
